This article provides details about the Cap.so Desktop License, including device limitations, cross-platform usage, and update policies.

Device Activations

A Desktop License is a perpetual license that can be active on a single computer at a time. The license is attached to your specific instance of the app. If you want to use the Cap app on multiple devices simultaneously, you will need to purchase a separate license for each.

You can detach your license from one computer and re-attach it to another, including moving it between a Mac and a Windows PC. This allows you to transfer your license when you get a new computer.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

Your Desktop License is valid for both macOS and Windows. While the license can only be active on one computer at a time, you can detach it from a Mac and attach it to a Windows PC (or vice-versa) without any issues.

For the best experience, we recommend using macOS 13.1 or newer and Windows 10 or newer.

Updates and New Features

When you purchase a Desktop License, you have two options:

  • Lifetime License: A one-time payment that gives you access to all future updates for the lifetime of the product.

  • Annual License: A yearly subscription that provides access to updates as long as your subscription is active.

Commercial Use

A Desktop License is required for commercial use of the Cap app. Commercial use is defined as any activity that generates revenue, such as creating promotional content for a product or service. For more details, please refer to our Commercial License documentation.
